BIOGRAPHY

Jodie is an Australian Choreographer for Contemporary Dance, Physical Theatre and Circus.   She graduated from Rusden Dance and Drama College (Melbourne) and trained as an Acrobat at The National Institute of Circus Arts (Melbourne).  Jodie creates interdisciplinary Dance  and Physical theatre work that is concerned with amalgamating Contemporary Dance, Acrobatics and Theatre. Jodie creates work that is physically exciting and emotionally moving, blending the poetic and emotional qualities of Contemporary Dance, the dynamic and athletic qualities of Acrobatics and the in-depth exploration of content through theatre methods of  improvisation and character development.  Jodie has performed, choreographed and directed works for leading performance companies throughout Australia including: Legs on the Wall, Tasdance, The Flying Fruit Fly Circus, The Victorian College of the Arts, Circus Oz, National Institute of Circus Arts, Circus Monoxide, Contact Dance Company (Malta), The Australian Choreographic Centre, Ausdance, QL2 National Centre for Youth Dance, Peep Show inc, Fling Physical Theatre, Deakin University and Acrobat. Her work has toured extensively throughout Australia, Singapore, Korea, Malta and Bulgaria.
